My designs are intended to create a fluidity between spaces that allows the user the opportunity to contemplate the beauty of nature as well as manmade constructions. A retreat from the complexity of our lives, where shapes, lines, plants, structures, and natural materials, provide positive energy and enrich the life experience of those present.
While my primary objective is to create such an environment, I strive not to do so at the expense of our larger shared environment (either local or global). To that end, the process is guided by a recognition of the spirit of the existing environment - where natural surroundings are not considered an obstacle but rather an asset that potentially could be incorporated into the design. A philosophy that perceives nature as a collaborator, that not only provides beauty but also requires respect.
