Dinorah Melendez’s passions are designing and travel.  While she has a formal background in both architecture (Bachelors, PUCMM, Dominican Republic) and Landscape Design (Masters Degree, Columbia University, NY), her love for travel has also profoundly influenced her aesthetic.  The intimate courtyards of Spain and Mexico, confined yet elaborate interior spaces of India, intricate shapes of Italy, and the vibrant vegetation of the Dominican Republic, have all refined her vision, perception of space, and the variety of its treatments.


A defining characteristic of Dinorah Melendez’s  design work is her emphasis on collaboration.  Her methodology is to consult with as many people who have knowledge relating to a site as possible.  Whether it’s a client providing information about their lifestyle and intended use of a space, an individual conscious of environmental issues, or a builder aware of local resources, Dinorah’s philosophy is that all  opportunities for feedback are valuable.
